A tour bus carrying numerous German visitors collided in middle Norway. Police said the car overturned into a ditch on a curve. The inquiry into the cause of the accident is underway.
A German tour bus toppled in Norway, injuring a number of visitors. According to the national broadcaster NRK, which cited police sources, 34 Germans were aboard. The crash resulted in minor injuries for many people. Four people were sent to various hospitals.
According to the Norwegian Broadcasting Corporation, the tour bus overturned on the E6 highway on a bend while travelling in Trøndelag, central Norway. The bus came to a stop on its side on the grass beside the road. The reason of the accident is yet unknown. According to media reports, no additional vehicles were likely involved.
According to Norwegian television NRK, first responders had to shatter glass with a hammer quickly after the accident to reach the tour bus’s injured passengers. An eyewitness characterised the scenario as “somewhat chaotic”.
According to the Norwegian television, the municipality of Namsskogan has formed a crisis squad to help German tourists as soon as possible. Those who had minor injuries were transferred by bus to a municipal care facility, where psychosocial staff are available to assist the passengers, some of whom are traumatised.
