Diana Ross looked stunning in a couture gown that paid homage to her family’s past, demonstrating once more that she is the embodiment of Black glamour.

Diana Ross returned to the Met Gala for the first time in almost two decades, and she did so in the way that only a living icon can.

At the 2025 Met Gala, themed Black Dandyism, the Motown legend and worldwide superstar reclaimed her due place on the carpet with a beautiful moment anchored in fashion, family, and tradition.

Ross, dressed in a bespoke white gown dripping in crystals and jewels, with an 18-foot train hand-embroidered with the names of her five children and eight grandkids, did more than just attend the ball. She blessed it.

Ross is no stranger to creating fashion history. She first attended the Met Gala in 1978 with designer Halston, and she stunned everyone again in 2003 with a blazing red Gucci gown. However, this is only her sixth appearance, and it is undoubtedly her most poignant.
