After serving many jail sentences, Gzuz was determined to change his life for the sake of his family. However, the 187 Strassenbande rapper was allegedly discovered with narcotics in the neighbourhood and lost control.

One of the most popular rappers in Hamburg is Kristoffer Jonas Klauß, better known by his stage name, Gzuz. The member of 187 Strassenbande has been putting out his own music since 2006, and three of his five albums have reached the top of the German charts. He has no plans to retire.

Rather, on June 20, 2025, his new record “Scherbenhaus” will be published, and with his wife at his side, Gzuz dares to start over.

The German rapper wed Lisa, his long-time lover, in May 2022. Currently, he has a son and two daughters.

However, Gzuz hasn’t seen his children much in the past – after all, he was sentenced to several years in prison for assault and violations of the Explosives and Weapons Act .

Most recently, he paid a €410,000 fine and spent eight months in Glasmoor Prison in Norderstedt. He was released in the fall of 2023 and stated.

Since it constantly involves criminals or crimes, it’s rather absurd if I can’t display anything private. #sad I guess all I need to do is figure out how to get out of my previous life! It’s about advancing and family! And it has nothing to do with proving anything to anybody! “Fifty percent of those guys are either deported or in jail!”

Gzuz positioned his trash bag in front of the prison in an appropriate manner.

The Hamburg native had already attracted attention several times in his youth and was imprisoned for the first time in 2010 for robbery and assault. He explained this to “Tattoo Magazine”: “Prison is never pleasant, but sometimes it’s unavoidable. So I’m not scared of it. If it comes to that again, then that’s just how it is. Certainly not without reason, but it can happen at any time. If I get into an argument or something like that now, I’m not going to tuck my tail between my legs just because I’m afraid of jail.”

But Gzuz still seems to have learnt nothing from his various prison sentences. As the BILD newspaper reports, the rapper – who is currently still on probation – has been charged again. This time, it’s for possession of narcotics and insult. But what happened?

Gzuz was apprehended in his hometown of Hamburg in the spring of 2025 while doing a personal check. He allegedly insulted the cops while carrying a “suspicious white powder” and a “ominous plastic tube.” A visit to the renowned Davidwache police station came next.

In addition to having his probation revoked, the German rapper would return to prison and only be able to see his three kids on certain visiting days if Gzuz is found guilty.
