According to Pakistan’s military, India’s midnight attacks have killed 26 people and injured 46 others.
The Indian army began Operation Sindoor just after midnight on Wednesday, targeting nine locations in Pakistan and Pakistan-administered Kashmir that it referred to as “terrorist infrastructure”.
According to Pakistan’s military, India’s military launched 24 attacks in six separate locations throughout Pakistan and Pakistan-administered Kashmir, killing at least 26 persons and injuring over 35 others.
In retaliation, Pakistan scrambled its warplanes and said that it had shot down five Indian planes, including French-made advanced Rafale fighter jets and Russian SU-30 and Mig-29s. Pakistani officials said that they used BVR missiles to shoot down the indian warplanes. India has not yet addressed this allegation.
The Indian strike occurred 15 days after armed groups, which India said were supported by Pakistan, killed tourists in the charming town of Pahalgam in Indian-administered Kashmir on April 22. Islamabad denied involvement in the assault.
Since then, there has been intense firing across the India-Pakistan Line of Control.
Indian missiles triggered loud explosions and blackouts during the night, leaving residents in Pakistan-administered Kashmir feeling terrified and panicked.
More civilians were caught in the crosshairs on both sides as heavy bombardment persisted into the morning across the Line of Control.
