On March 23, the China Welfare Lottery took to its official WeChat account to inform the public that certain unscrupulous individuals have been misleading lottery purchasers into paying for a so-called “prediction service”, falsely claiming that “AI can predict lottery numbers with a 100% winning rate.” Unfortunately, many have fallen victim to this deception. Amidst the allure of quick riches, one must remain vigilant: the purported AI predictions for lottery numbers are unequivocally a scam!
The foundation of AI prediction rests upon statistics, machine learning, and data mining, which deduce the likelihood of future occurrences or outcomes by scrutinising patterns and consistencies found in historical data.
Nonetheless, it is essential to understand that every lottery draw operates on a basis of randomness and independence, meaning there exists no correlation between the outcomes of previous draws and those that may occur in the future. While AI may engage in what some might call “complex” analysis of historical draw numbers, it remains incapable of predicting the next draw number. Each lottery draw stands as an independent event, unaffected by prior outcomes.
Individuals who assert they can harness AI to forecast winning numbers are merely exploiting the public’s yearning for success, concocting a façade of “scientific” deceit.
In light of the recent “AI predicting lottery numbers” scam, the China Welfare Lottery kindly urges all lottery participants to maintain a level-headed approach while seeking fortune. It is essential to remain alert and not fall prey to misleading assurances and enticements. Enhancing your fraud awareness and honing your skills to recognise various scams is crucial. Stand firm against deception, safeguard your financial interests, and ensure that your lottery experience is both secure and enjoyable, and create a healthy lottery purchasing environment together.
