Kanye West Announces Russia Concert Dates Following European Backlash

Rapper Kanye West has announced two upcoming concerts at the Gazprom Arena in St Petersburg, Russia, following a wave of performance cancellations across Europe.

American rapper Ye, widely known as Kanye West, is set to perform two massive concerts at the Gazprom Arena in St Petersburg, Russia, on October 10 and 11, 2026. The announcement, confirmed by the show’s organisers, Say Agency and local venue channels, marks a significant international booking as he becomes one of the largest global music stars to visit Russia.

Setting the Stage at Gazprom Arena

The upcoming shows will take place at the massive Gazprom Arena, the home ground of the Zenit St. Petersburg football club, which boasts a capacity of roughly 70,000 to 80,000 spectators. According to reports from Russian state news agencies, ticket prices range from 9,000 rubles for standard seating up to 160,000 rubles for VIP boxes, with the cheapest tickets reportedly selling out within the first hour of going on sale.

The rapper’s move to book dates in Russia follows a wave of cancellations across Europe. Earlier performance plans in several European countries and the UK were scrapped or blocked following severe backlash over the artist’s controversial remarks and public praise of Adolf Hitler. Despite these international roadblocks and widespread public criticism, Ye has continued pushing forward with international dates, drawing large crowds in regions outside Western Europe.

A History of Ties to Russia

This upcoming visit follows a private trip Ye took to Moscow in 2024, where he celebrated the birthday of Russian fashion designer and frequent collaborator Gosha Rubchinskiy. While rumours of a performance at Moscow’s Luzhniki Stadium circulated during that 2024 visit, an official concert never materialized.

With contracts reportedly signed and tickets actively moving, the October dates look set to bring the controversial artist to a Russian stage for the first time, sparking intense global discussion as the fall concert season approaches.
