AEW World’s End 2025 Results: MJF reclaims the World Title in a massive 4-way clash! Plus, Jon Moxley wins the Continental Classic over Okada, and 2025’s top awards are revealed. Read our full grades and analysis.

All Elite Wrestling closed out a “banner” 2025 with its third annual Worlds End pay-per-view, emanating from a sold-out NOW Arena. The night was a whirlwind of high-stakes athleticism, crowning new champions and solidifying AEW’s dominance in the professional wrestling landscape. From the crowning of a two-time World Champion to the brutal conclusion of the Continental Classic, the event lived up to its name as the definitive end to a historic year.

The Main Event: MJF’s Prophecy Fulfilled

In a chaotic four-way main event that kept fans on the edge of their seats, Maxwell Jacob Friedman (MJF) reclaimed the AEW World Championship, pinning Samoa Joe to start his second reign. The match was originally scheduled as a triple threat between Joe, “Hangman” Adam Page, and Swerve Strickland, but MJF shocked the world by executing his Casino Gauntlet championship contract to insert himself into the bout.

The finish was a masterclass in “The Devil’s” cunning. After “Hangman” Page connected with two devastating Buckshot Lariats on Samoa Joe, MJF low-blowed Page, shoved Joe out of the way, and hit a Heatseeker to secure the three-count. With this win, MJF heads into 2026 as the face of the company, though a hungry Bandido—who won the Dynamite Diamond Ring earlier in the week—is already waiting in the wings for a title shot on January 15.

Match Grades and Analysis

Jon Moxley vs. Kyle Fletcher (Continental Classic Semifinal)

Grade: A+

This was arguably the match of the night. Moxley and “The Protostar” Kyle Fletcher engaged in a violent, high-paced encounter that saw Fletcher survive an avalanche suplex only to be caught in a brutal Bulldog Choke. Fletcher’s performance solidified him as a future main-eventer, while Moxley proved why he is the heart of AEW.

Kazuchika Okada vs. Kazuchika Takeshita (Continental Classic Semifinal)

Grade: A-

A “dream match” that lived up to the hype. The story centered on the internal friction within the Don Callis Family. Okada utilized a controversial screwdriver shot—unseen by the referee—to put away Takeshita. While the finish was divisive, the in-ring work was flawless.

Kris Statlander vs. Jamie Hayter (Women’s World Championship)

Grade: B+

A physical, hard-hitting affair between two of the strongest women on the roster. Statlander’s “powerhouse” style meshed perfectly with Hayter’s “stiff” strikes. Statlander retained, but the post-match respect shown between the two suggests this rivalry is far from over.

FTR vs. Bang Bang Gang (Chicago Street Fight)

Grade: B

Pure, unadulterated chaos. Using everything from steel chains to trash cans, FTR proved why they were named Tag Team of the Year. The Bang Bang Gang looked strong in defeat, but Dax and Cash’s veteran instincts carried them to another defense.

2025 AEW Year-End Awards (Sports Illustrated Accolades)

During the post-show press conference, AEW President Tony Khan highlighted the company’s “Promotion of the Year” win from Sports Illustrated, while also revealing several individual honors for the roster:

  • Male Wrestler of the Year: “Hangman” Adam Page
  • Female Wrestler of the Year: Mercedes Moné
  • Best In-Ring Wrestler: Will Ospreay
  • Tag Team of the Year: FTR
  • Rivalry of the Year: “Hangman” Adam Page vs. Jon Moxley
  • Breakout Wrestler of the Year: Kyle Fletcher
  • Best on the Mic: “Timeless” Toni Storm
  • Show of the Year: Double or Nothing 2025

The Fallout: What’s Next for All Elite Wrestling?

The landscape has shifted dramatically. Jon Moxley is the new Continental Champion, having forced Kazuchika Okada to relinquish the AEW Unified Championship in the process. Moxley has declared that the title now belongs “to the fans,” signaling a fighting champion’s run in early 2026.

Meanwhile, MJF has returned to his throne, but the shadow of the Death Riders and the emergence of Bandido as the #1 contender mean his second “Summer of MJF” (in the winter) will be anything but easy.

As Tony Khan noted, 2025 was the “best year” in the company’s history for television and PPV success. If Worlds End is any indication, 2026 is poised to be even bigger.
