Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Has Reportedly Sold 200 Million Copies

According to NHK, the popular Japanese manga “Demon Slayer: Kimetsu No Yaiba” by the mangaka—the moniker by which the creators are known—sold more than 200 million copies worldwide.

Koyoharu Gotouge’s novel, set in Taisho-era Japan, was written between 2016 and 2020. It tells the narrative of two brothers whose lives are tainted by demonic blood following the death of their family.

The narrative expanded from the small screen to the big screen, with animation production houses Ufotable and Animeplex bringing Kamado Tanjiro, Kamado Nesuko, Inosuke, and Agatsuma Zenitsu to life.

In 2020, the film “Demon Slayer: Infinite Castle” was released and grossed 40 billion yen in Japanese theatres, according to local media outlet NHK, becoming the highest-grossing film.

Later, he achieved worldwide fame.

The manga has a total of 23 volumes published worldwide, including digital versions, grossing 220 million yen.

It’s worth noting that the last digital installment of the anime is set to launch in Mexico on September 11th. This will be the second half of the one published in 2020, lasting roughly 155 minutes and telling the end saga of the demon hunters.

It opened in Japan on July 18, and social media fans uploaded a decoration depicting its long-awaited appearance on the big screen.
