A chaotic active shooter situation at a high-rise apartment complex in downtown Minneapolis has left three people dead, including the gunman, and six others injured, including three police officers who rushed into the line of fire.
The violent incident unfolded on Wednesday afternoon, September 2, 2026, at the Shoreline Plaza apartment complex, formerly known as Loring Towers, situated near 15 East Grant Street close to the Minneapolis Convention Center.
A Rapid Police Response and Hallway Firefight
According to Minneapolis Police Department spokespersons, emergency dispatchers began receiving 911 calls reporting shots fired inside the building just after 4:30 p.m. Officers arrived on the scene within three minutes, immediately entered the high-rise structure, and heard active gunfire echoing from the upper floors.
