Yavuz Bülent Bakiler, the maestro of Turkish literature, died at the hospital where he had been receiving treatment for some time.
Yavuz Bülent Bakiler, a master poet and writer recognised for his sensitivity to the Turkish language, died at the age of 89.
There has been no funeral notice for Bakiler, who died in the hospital where he had been treated for some time.
Yavuz Bülent Bakiler, well known for his poem “I Surprised, I Stayed Here, I Know What You Are,” was a poet revered not just in Türkiye, but across the Turkic world, for his knowledge of the Turkish language and nationalist position.
Istanbul Governor Davut Gül also expressed his sorrow over Bakiler’s passing in a post on his X account. Gül said, ” We were saddened to hear of the passing of poet and writer Yavuz Bülent Bakiler . May God have mercy and compassion on him. May he rest in peace and high rank. My condolences to his family and loved ones.”
