Sheffield United midfielder Hamza Choudhury arrives in Bangladesh

Bangladesh is set to take on India in their opening fixture of the AFC Asian Cup qualifiers. The upcoming match on March 25 will mark the debut of Hamza Chowdhury, a Bangladeshi footballer currently playing in the English Premier League, for the national team.

He asserted that it is indeed feasible to overcome India in this crucial encounter.

Hamza, his son, arrived at Sylhet Osmani International Airport directly from England on Monday.

He addressed the press briefly upon his arrival at the airport. He expressed his delight at being back home. Hamza expressed, “It feels splendid to be back home; I am absolutely thrilled.” My heart brims with joy.

Hamza Chowdhury has already had a conversation with Bangladesh’s coach, Javier Cabrera. He is set to join the Bangladesh team’s camp on Tuesday.

The midfielder, poised to step onto the pitch, remarked that a victory over India is attainable if the team adheres to the coach’s strategy. He remarked, “I have had a conversation with Coach Cabrera.” With a bit of luck, victory shall be ours against India. I hold grand aspirations with Coach Javier regarding Bangladesh. “Inshallah, we shall achieve victory and make progress.”

Hamza arrived at Sylhet Airport at 11:35 am, accompanied by his family. There, officials from the BFF greeted him with a bouquet of flowers. Upon Hamza’s departure from the VIP gate, having fulfilled the necessary internal formalities at the airport, the clock struck 12:34 pm.

As soon as Hamza made his appearance, the airport grounds resonated with the enthusiastic chants of fans proclaiming, ‘Welcome to the Motherland, Hamza, Hamza.’ The supporters greeted the star footballer with a display of red-green flare smoke, creating a vibrant atmosphere. Following a succinct discussion with them, Hamza re-entered the baby terminal. He found himself unable to exit the airport alongside his family, hindered by the throngs of people.

Earlier, Hamza departed for Sylhet on a Bangladesh Biman flight at 2 am local time from Manchester, England. He was joined on this trip by his mother, wife, and children.

Hamza will proceed straight from Sylhet Airport to Snanghat village, situated under the jurisdiction of Bahubal police station in Habiganj. He is set to enjoy some quality time with his family there today. The arrival of this midfielder from Sheffield United has certainly sparked a lively atmosphere in Habiganj.

Hamza is scheduled to touch down in Dhaka on a flight at 8:40 pm this coming Tuesday. Following that, he will be attending the BFF camp.
