The light dims, silence grapples in the crowd but the stage awakens not with a living artist but with a mesmerizing fusion of sound and light, bouncing between reality and illusion!
As machines compose rhythms and avatars steal the spotlight, the future of concerts stands between the raw energy of live concerts and the flawless world of VR-AI-crafted music.
As technology advances, concerts are evolving beyond traditional live performances. AI (Artificial Intelligence) and VR (Virtual Reality) are reshaping how people experience music. Virtual concerts allow fans to attend performances from anywhere, while AI-generated music can create unique sounds.
However, there is always room for constructive criticism among fans. Mehnaz (23), a private university student, said, “The energy of a live concert is special because you feel the people around you, the music, and the excitement! But there is one thing I want to mention. As I am a fan of Atif Aslam, sadly I missed his last concert, which I regret. So, if I had the chance to see him virtually and listen to his songs, it would be tremendous!”
Many music lovers believe AI lacks human emotions and expressions, which are essential to a live performance. The subtle gestures, voice variations, and spontaneous moments that make live concerts special may not be replaced by AI or VR. Older generations who are not tech-savvy may also find it difficult to adapt to virtual concerts.
