Raffaella Fico returns to Verissimo to share the pain of losing her child at the end of 2025 and how she is starting over with partner Armando Izzo.
Raffaella Fico chose the Verissimo lounge to recount the experience that, at the end of 2025, indelibly marked her private life: while expecting a child with her boyfriend Armando Izzo, the couple had to cope with the loss of their child, the second for Raffaella, who was already mother to 12-year-old Pia, the daughter of her ex Mario Balotelli.
Silvia Toffanin , who last November welcomed the model into her program’s studio for an interview dedicated entirely to her second pregnancy, is ready to listen to her story. Raffaella Fico described the arrival of her second child as “a new phase in her life” marked by a “true, beautiful” love for her new partner. “What I feel for him I’ve never felt for anyone else. It’s as if I were discovering love for the first time,” she confessed emotionally on that occasion. Raffaella Fico was born in the province of Naples in 1988 and made her television debut in 2008, when she joined the cast of Big Brother’s eighth season. Her time in the house, which ended before the final, helped her become one of Mediaset’s most recognised faces, owing to her appearances on successful shows such as Lucignolo, Real TV, and the quiz show Il Colore degli Soldi.
In 2012, she returned to Rai as a participant in Simona Ventura’s show Isola dei Famosi, where she became a regular on some of the company’s most popular formats, including Quelli que il calcio. These were the years of her love for player Mario Balotelli, with whom she established a romance, and in 2012 she gave birth to a daughter, Pia, who was only two years later formally recognised by her father after a period of difficult legal challenges.
Only many years later would she recount, in several interviews, the relationship she had with Cristiano Ronaldo between 2009 and 2010 : on Monica Setta’s afternoon show in 2024, the model revealed that their passion sparked in Sardinia when she was 20. “I was at an event, he approached me, started courting me, and we exchanged numbers. That’s how this little story began. Even though I didn’t even know who he was.” The relationship continued for about nine months: “I didn’t expect him to look at me. It was a beautiful, intense story, which I cherish; he was my first boyfriend.”
Then, after her relationship with Ronaldo ended, Raffaella became involved with Mario Balotelli, a love that ended badly, very badly, due to his constant betrayals. And also because of his refusal to recognize their daughter Pia as his own. “The first few years were filled with anger, suffering, and pain. I had to be both mother and father. Luckily, my family helped me. But today I’m very happy. Pia sees Balotelli often, and whenever I can, I fly her to see him.”
After Balotelli, Raffaella had a relationship with Gianluca Tozzi, the son of singer Umberto, which ended on the eve of marriage since he was still legally married to someone else. Then she dated Alessandro Moggi, the son of sports director Luciano, for two years, from 2016 to 2018. Again, the much-anticipated nuptials that gossip magazines hoped for never happened.
Before meeting player Armando Izzo, the presenter was in a yearlong romance with entrepreneur Piero Neri. She and Izzo, whom she has been dating since the autumn of 2025, struck it off right away: “He arrived a little unexpectedly. “He was good, he courted me, we are two similar souls,” she told Verissimo, referring to her new, tremendous love and the bond between her fiancé and her daughter Pia. Raffaella Fico is now ready for a fresh beginning, having overcome the agony of her loss.
