Country music legend Dolly Parton, at 79, has made the difficult decision to postpone her highly anticipated Las Vegas limited residency, “Dolly: Live in Las Vegas,” citing recent and ongoing health challenges that require her to undergo multiple medical procedures.
In a heartfelt and characteristically humorous statement shared across her social media platforms on Sunday, the global superstar informed her fans that her six-show engagement, originally scheduled for December 2025 at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace, has been moved to September 2026.
Putting Health Before Show Business
Parton, a tireless entertainer with a career spanning over six decades, explained that the necessity of taking time off for medical care would prevent her from delivering the spectacular performance she believes her fans deserve.
“I want the fans and public to hear directly from me that, unfortunately, I will need to postpone my upcoming Las Vegas concerts,” Parton wrote. “As many of you know, I have been dealing with some health challenges, and my doctors tell me that I must have a few procedures.”
She quickly lightened the mood with her trademark self-deprecating wit, adding, “As I joked with them, it must be time for my 100,000-mile check-up, although it’s not the usual trip to see my plastic surgeon!”
On a serious note, however, Parton made it clear that her current health needs demand a temporary halt to her gruelling preparation schedule. “In all seriousness, given this, I am not going to be able to rehearse and put together the show that I want you to see and the show that you deserve to see. You pay good money to see me perform, and I want to be at my best for you.”
Recent Health Setbacks Detailed
While the procedures mentioned by the singer remain unspecified, this news follows a recent and public health scare. Earlier in September, Parton was forced to skip a planned appearance at her Dollywood theme park in Tennessee.
In a video message to event attendees, she revealed that she was recovering from a kidney stone that had led to an infection, with doctors advising her against travel.
The current decision to postpone her multi-night Vegas engagement is a clear signal that the health issues are more extensive than a quick recovery from the recent kidney-related complication.
The residency was already a historic event, marking Parton’s first extended engagement in Las Vegas in over 30 years, creating extraordinary demand that saw her tickets sell out almost immediately.
The six dates, originally timed to coincide with the popular National Finals Rodeo in December, will now take place in the fall of the following year.
The Rescheduled Dates and Ticket Details
The six concerts at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace have been officially moved as follows:
| Original Date (December 2025) | Rescheduled Date (September 2026) |
| Thursday, December 4 | Thursday, September 17 |
| Saturday, December 6 | Saturday, September 19 |
| Sunday, December 7 | Sunday, September 20 |
| Wednesday, December 10 | Wednesday, September 23 |
| Friday, December 12 | Friday, September 25 |
| Saturday, December 13 | Saturday, September 26 |
All tickets purchased for the original December 2025 dates will be honored for the corresponding rescheduled shows in September 2026.
Ticketholders who are unable to attend the new dates will be offered refunds, with more information expected to be provided by their point of purchase.
No Talk of Retirement
Crucially, the country icon stressed that this is merely a temporary slowdown, not a final curtain call.
“Don’t worry about me quittin’ the business because God hasn’t said anything about stopping yet,” Parton affirmed, providing welcome relief to her legions of fans. “But, I believe He is telling me to slow down right now so I can be ready for more big adventures with all of you.”
Parton confirmed that she will remain active on her various projects from her home base in Nashville, including her extensive philanthropic work, music ventures, and creative development, while dedicating the necessary time to her recovery.
The overwhelming reaction from fans across social media has been one of universal support, praising the star for prioritizing her well-being.
“Take all the time you need, Dolly,” one fan comment read, encapsulating the sentiment of millions who eagerly await her return to the stage healthy and fully “show ready.”
