The TV Azteca Honduras network said farewell to dentist and broadcaster Mayra Tercero, whose cause of death is presently unclear.

Television anchor Mayra Tercero died at the age of 31, according to a statement from TV Azteca Honduras, where she worked.

Tercero was the major face of the youth show ‘Dale Like,’ which airs on the Honduran network from Monday to Friday at 3:00 p.m.

“Mayra was a passionate, brilliant young Honduran woman with an infectious energy who left an indelible mark on those who knew her, both on and off screen,” according to how she was characterised. “Our deepest condolences to her family, friends, and loved ones in this time of grief,” said the source.

During Monday’s Venga la Alegría broadcast, the TV Azteca Honduras team paid respect to the Tegucigalpa host by following her ashes through the city streets.

From the San Judas Tadeo Church, where a mass was held to say goodbye to her, her sister expressed her gratitude for the displays of affection in response to her emotional death and asked that she be remembered through positive gestures.

“I’m going to miss her; we’re going to miss her (…). And I ask that we continue to remember her with a smile, the one she always brought to our lives,” he said.

In honour of Mayra Tercero, her family, friends, and television station coworkers launched white balloons into the sky near her burial at the Cemetery of Flowers.

Mayra Tercero died of what?

According to the Honduran daily La Tribuna, she suffered a “health crisis,” and was brought to the hospital, but died minutes later.

They provide two early accounts of events: the first says she had previously had significant stomach discomfort, while the second alleges she was a victim of food poisoning. The media does not rule out the idea that Mayra Tercero had a pre-existing condition that contributed to her death.

They are waiting for an autopsy to disclose formal details concerning the television host’s death. However, the study does not address the likelihood of medical negligence.

Who was the presenter, Mayra Tercero?

Although the presenter, Mayra Alejandra Tercero Acosta, studied dentistry at the National Autonomous University of Honduras (UNAH), she rose to prominence in the media.

Mayra was a presenter, a dentist, and a dancer. She worked for TV Azteca Honduras as a reporter, as well as an entertainment and sports presenter.

She now has 471,000 followers on Instagram, where she was previously quite active. Two days before her death, the presenter shared a snapshot of the “Gate of Love” while on vacation with her mother in Cartagena, Colombia.

“Legend has it that if you go to Cartagena, you have to knock on the cathedral door to marry the love of your life,” the presenter said in her final post before her death, which was met with farewell and grieving comments from her fans and friends.

The broadcaster started her career in Honduran media with the show Calle 7. Her media career included appearances on Hable networks like as Habla, Q’Hubo, and, ultimately, TV Azteca Honduras.
