Former Bangladeshi captain of the National Cricket Team and batsman suffered from cardiac arrest during a DPL match in Savar, Dhaka.
Tamim Iqbal took unwell during a Dhaka Premier League fixture at BKSP in Savar.
He was transported to Fazilatunnesa Hospital adjacent to BKSP following the onset of chest pain. Hospital sources indicate that Debashish Chowdhury, the head of the medical department at BCB, has confirmed that Tamim suffered a heart attack. He is presently receiving care in the cardiac unit.
The squad led by Tamim The manager of Mohammedan, Tariqul Islam, stated that efforts were made to transfer Tamim to Evercare Hospital in Dhaka. However, as his condition failed to sufficiently improve for a helicopter airlift, he is currently receiving treatment at Fazilatunnesa Hospital.
Tamim was in action for Mohammedan, taking on Shinepukur at the BKSP ground number 3. He took part in the toss as the captain, showcasing his leadership role.
Subsequently, Tamim received first aid at BKSP following an unexpected onset of chest pain. As his condition failed to show any signs of improvement, he was transferred to Fazilatunnesa Hospital, conveniently located adjacent to BKSP. He is presently receiving care there.
The board meeting of the BCB has been delayed in light of the recent news regarding Tamim’s health condition. The 19th board meeting was set to commence at 12 noon. The directors and officials of the BCB are making their way to the hospital to visit Tamim.
As per the latest reports, his situation remains very critical and uncertain.
