Jabal al-Lawz in northern Saudi Arabia offers a breathtaking winter scene with its layer of snow.
At about 2,600 meters in elevation, Jabal al-Lawz is among the tallest mountains in Saudi Arabia. Situated above the Gulf of Aqaba in the Kingdom’s northwest, close to the Jordanian border.
Furthermore, adventurers and travelers go there in the winter for a holiday filled with unforgettable experiences. Every winter, snow covers its peak and stays there for months, creating a breathtaking white vista that tourists can’t get enough of.
Jabal al-Lawz, which has a delicate white appearance, was blanketed in snow during a brilliant winter atmosphere. This prompted locals to go for walks and enjoy the area around the mountain, which is covered in snow every year. The snowfall on Jabal al-Lawz created a picturesque natural scene.
In order to showcase the breathtaking winter scenery of the Kingdom, the hikers were eager to capture images and videos of themselves enjoying the one-of-a-kind ambiance using their cameras.
Because the snow in Jabal al-Lawz created such a picturesque scene, it drew tourists from Tabuk who wanted to experience the snowfall for themselves. In turn, the Saudis took a lot of pictures of the snow-covered mountain and shared them on social media.
Jabal al-Lawz
Near the Jordanian border in the Tabuk area, about 200 km northwest of the city of Tabuk, stands the peak Jabal al-Lawz in the northwest of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The old almond trees that formerly stood there are the reason it is known as Jabal al-Lawz.
It is one of the tallest mountain ranges in the Hasma area, which extends the Sarawat Mountains from Wadi Rum in Jordan to the west of Tabuk, with an elevation of 2,549 meters above sea level.
The area is rich in Islamic calligraphy, ancient inscriptions, and rock art that dates back to over 10,000 years BC. Because of its strategic position and its role in cultural development during a certain time period—the Nabataean era, which lasted from the first to the second century BC and maybe beyond—the area has been economically prosperous. This is especially true of the ancient Arab territory.
Additionally, snow may fall at any time of year, including winter and spring.
