Social media has been buzzing with reactions from passionate Olympic Games fans, who are expressing their strong emotions over a captivating photo of Turkish shooter Yusuf Dikec in action during the intense 10-metre air pistol mixed team event in Paris.

The 51-year-old and his partner Sevval Ilayda Tarhan won the silver medal, but it was Dikec's unique approach to the competition that has made him an internet sensation.

Dikec gained widespread attention when a photo of him went viral on social media. In the photo, he was competing in a surprisingly casual manner, without the usual shooting gear, and even had one hand in his pocket.

Many shooters at the Olympic Games opt for ear protection while shooting and wear specialised glasses that partially obstruct vision in one eye, eliminating the need to keep it closed. These glasses often have tinted lenses to reduce glare.

'Turkey sent a 51-year-old dude with no specialized lenses, eye cover, or ear protection, and secured the silver medal,' posted one fan on X.

'I know a trained assassin when I see one,' joked another user.

'Did Turkey send a hitman to the Olympics?' posted another.

A fourth wrote: 'Turkey Government: We have a different kind of job for you this week.'
