Richard Lugner is saddened by Sonja Schönanger's death. His best friend, who he dubbed "Beetle," passed away at the age of 59.
According to what Lugner said, he and Schönanger last spoke on the phone on Sunday. When "Käfer" turned 91 in mid-October, he celebrated with friends and family.
Lugner revealed the tragic news to "Krone" that the fashion mogul had passed away. Beetle was diagnosed with lung cancer two years ago, and "the metastases spread to other parts of the body, especially to the liver," the society founder stated.
In addition, "We are all deeply affected because she was actually the blossoming life."
She had back discomfort and spoke about it on October 14 during his birthday celebration, Lugner said. The society constructor went on to say that, per his knowledge, she took a cab to the hospital after the celebration.
But in their last phone conversation on Sunday, she informed him she "still hope," as Mörtel somberly put it.
Fans of Sonja Schönanger feel the same way about the Lugner "Beetle" being discontinued. Flowers and candles were left in front of her business on Friday morning in Vienna.
Richard Lugner dated Sonja Schönanger for a year, from 2008 to 2009.
