Europeans24 covers the major events throughout Austria on the National Day (Österreicher-Tag) of the country.
Chancellor Nehammer posted a wrong eagle on X
On the national holiday, a message from Chancellor Karl Nehammer's (VP) X account provoked animosity on the social networking site that was once known as Twitter. "On this national holiday, I'd like to thank everyone who helps to make our beautiful country what it is: a strong, safe, and livable country." Have faith in Austria! In the morning, the Chancellor tweeted, "Happy #NationalDay!" He also produced an illustration of the Austrian federal eagle, but in reverse. The federal eagle, instead of looking to the left, turned to the right.
The Chancellor had to accept some animosity for the gaffe in the comments on Twitter. The posting was subsequently updated with the right federal eagle. When questioned, the Federal Chancellery refused to make a comment. The VP had previously stunned many at the end of September with another Twitter gaffe: At the time, the party distributed a piggy bank to promote the government's anti-inflationary initiatives. However, it was discovered that the stock picture used depicted Russian rubles rather than euros.
Military Performance
The Federal Army was well-represented during this year's national holiday celebrations on Vienna's Heldenplatz. Heldenplatz has played host to the Federal Army's performance exhibition for the last 28 times. The Jagdkommando parachutists landed in the middle of the plaza, and the Guard performed for the crowd.
The Federal Army is also displaying several of its emergency vehicles. The main combat tank "Leopard II," the infantry tank "Ulan," and the multi-purpose vehicle "Husar" are just some of the tanks on display. The later automobile serves several purposes, including transport, patrol, command, and reconnaissance. At Heldenplatz, you can check out helicopters and combat jets, including a lifelike, full-size replica of a Eurofighter.
Stegen Market
This morning, October 26th, the oldest market in all of Tyrol reopens. There is heavy traffic on the Pustertal state road on "Austrian Day." Many people are making their way to Stegen.
You must have gone to the Stegen market, as the "Stega Morscht" is beckoning once again and many people wish for a nice winter. Many people are traveling to the Bruneck area on Thursday morning, which is especially evident on the Pustertal state road, where there is already a traffic snarl stretching back to St. Sigmund.
