After Sunday's semi-final in the Queen Sonja Singing Competition, six finalists are prepared for the grand finale. They're all not from Norway.
For the granted first prize of 50,000 euros, Aksel Daveyan (Armenia), Navasard Hakobyan (Armenia), Vladyslav Tlushch (Ukraine), Rebecka Wallroth (Sweden), Nils Wanderer (Germany), and Jasmine White (USA) are competing. This is roughly equivalent to 560,000 NOK. (NTB)
Every two years, the winner of the Queen Sonja Singing Competition receives the honour.
But why aren't Norwegian singers the focus of the competition? The NTB report makes no mention of that.
Is Sonja the ruler of the world or of Norway? This will definitely surprise a lot of people.
