According to reports from Bangladeshi media outlet Manab Zamin, quoting the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) of the Bangladesh Armed Forces, troops have been stationed in these two districts to cope with the issue. The organisation released this information this morning in a statement. As a result of the flooding caused by the heavy rains, travel on the Chittagong-Cox's Bazar route has halted. Since this morning, there has been no traffic on that route.

On the other side, the number of fatalities from landslides in Bandarban and Cox's Bazar has grown to 6 as a result of the ongoing rains. Two people died in Chakaria yesterday, while a mother and daughter died at the Rohingya camp in Ukhia.

In addition, a woman and daughter died in a landslip this morning in Bandarban Sadar. A thousand or more homes were inundated. Landslides over a 12-mile section of the Bandarban-Thanchi route have cut off Ruma-Thanchi connectivity from Bandarban. A young Chittagong farmer and businessman named Shahed Hossain Babu, however, vanished after his boat sank on Monday night at about 8 o'clock.

His boat capsized as it crossed the Halda River branch canal, leaving him lost. According to reports, the rescue effort has resumed as of the morning following the night. The rescue effort was initiated by the rescue crew in the morning. A young man's corpse that was lost in the Matamuhuri river in Chakaria has been found. A college student in Chittagong perished earlier that day after plunging into a flooded canal.

For several days, Chittagong has experienced heavy rain. As a result, much of the city's low-lying sections are sinking, and flooding is widespread. Landslides have also happened in a number of locations.

Bandarban, meantime, saw 342 mm of rain, the most in the nation, fall on the previous day as of Monday night. The rain hasn't stopped. According to the meteorological department, rain is predicted to stop starting on Wednesday.
