Selçuk Bayraktar, the chairman of the board of directors at Baykar, made an announcement announcing the start of the KIZILELMA-A Unmanned Fighter Aircraft's mass production.
At the Rocket Competition held by Roketsan at the HSAR Test Centre as a part of TEKNOFEST, Selçuk Bayraktar made significant remarks.
Selçuk Bayraktar stated that the supersonic form of Turkey's first unmanned warplane, the Bayraktar KIZILELMA, was also being designed. While development work is still being done, we are presently gearing up to put the first variant—the KIZILELMA-A non-supersonic variant—into production.
Selçuk Bayraktar said the following when discussing the research on artificial intelligence and unmanned aerial vehicles:
"To improve situational awareness and flight safety, we do research on our platforms, which we refer to as advanced algorithms (also known as artificial intelligence, or AI).
However, especially on armed platforms, these studies do not fully cripple people. Algorithms that will improve flight safety while also allowing the aircraft to view and comprehend its surroundings are still being worked on.
Of course, we do these studies primarily for our unmanned aerial vehicle platforms, but we are also getting ready for Cezeri, our flying vehicle. The technology we created here for the future will be transferred to this platform.
On the other hand, continuing its export activities, BAYKAR has exported Bayraktar TB2 to 30 countries and AKINCI TÄ°HA to 7 countries. A number of countries, especially Azerbaijan, are closely interested in KIZILELMA.
