The actress Amina Khalil was chosen by the filmmaker, Haya Khairat, to receive the encouragement award she won at the 76th Cannes Film Festival. Haya Khairat explained why in a statement.
In an online interview for the "Zoom and Text" show on the "Hey" channel, Haya said that Amina was the person she picked because of their collaboration on the television series La Tatfi' al-Shams, for which Haya served as an assistant photographer at the time.
She continued by saying that she met Amina Khalil at that time and that their friendship started because of how similar their personalities seemed to her and how their ages weren't too far off.
She said, "I felt that (Amina Khalil) would remain a sense of me and a sense of my joy, and she would make me happy from her heart," stating that she wanted the person who gave her the prize to see it and that she has been proud of her at the moment from the beginning of her creative career.
She mentioned that she is working on a short film script and that she will then pitch the idea to a screenwriter. She explained that the story's theme is the bond between a father and his daughter, but that it will include some details that haven't been explored before.
