The Argentine Association of Actors disclosed this past Tuesday, November 11, that Marcela Ruiz, an actress and director with a distinguished career in cinema, television, and theater, had passed away. The day of her passing was Saturday, July 8. Ruiz, who was 79 years old and was born in Rosario on December 15, 1943, passed away.

We say goodbye to Marcela Ruiz, an actress who had a distinguished career in theater, cinema, and television, with profound sorrow. We stand by her family and friends at this difficult time, according to a statement issued by the group established in 1919 to protect the labor rights of actors and actresses.

In Rosario, Marcela completed her education in the Larrechea Dance School, the Di Tella Institute, and the Municipal School of Dramatic Art. Carlos Gandolfo, Joy Morris, and Roberto Villanueva are a few of her professors. Instead of sticking with that, Ruiz broadened her education to include directing, lighting, cosmetics, and set design.

Her most recent audiovisual project was the HBO Max series Mara Marta, el crimen del nation. His wide-ranging television career includes appearances in renowned Argentine television series like Perla Negra, Antonella, Gasoleros, Chiquititas, Rincón de luz, Celeste siempre Celeste, Compromiso, Floricienta, Married with Children, Primicias, Los Simuladores, Booties, A cut... coffee stories, and others. A few examples include El Capo, Desperate Housewives, El Capo, There is no one here who lives, South Wind, and Every day the same narrative.

Her involvement in movies like I'm Alone, The Bottom of the Sea, Revenge of a Friend, It Happened at the Boarding School, and Women's Correctional Facility demonstrates how extensive her film expertise is. She performed on stage in a variety of productions, including We Who Love Each Other So Much, The Fish Visitors, The Winks of God, Dark-haired and Argentine, and Wedding Party, among many more.

She also gained experience directing plays. She displayed the pieces Never again a lone lady and The eternal of light in this section. Marcela was a skilled model and commercial actor who also understood how to travel extensively.

When the news of her passing spread on social media, many of her coworkers as well as fans of shows that are still remembered, like Floricienta and Los Simuladores, fired her. She co-starred in the episode "Los impresentables" of this series, one of the fan favorites from the project created and directed by Damián Szifrón.

"At first, when Tito Rodriguez sang, he covered his face. I believed I was the most attractive girl in the world at the moment. Prior to starting at Parabrisas, I had to work at a travel agency and then as a businessman's secretary. Then came the first hits," a teenage Marcela recalled in the Extra magazine edition from October 1969. She had left her hometown of Rosario four years prior to the interview and relocated to Buenos Aires after quitting her undergraduate philosophy course.

"They suggested I do nudist stuff. I was in need of money since I was barely making ends meet as a boarder. I agreed since I was confident that my body was not and is not obscene. I did really wonderful work," she said when asked about his modeling career's beginnings.
