The 11th season of "The Taste" (SAT.1) and "Fastfood Deluxe" have concluded. At least such was the guiding principle of the show's guest judge, Frank Rosin, from whom it appears there is no getting away. Alexander Herrmann made the youngest contender Theresa weep, and private chef Yvonne (39) won the race.

"I don't like fast food; I find it to be excessively fatty and heavy. I enjoy the lighter spring fare and make up my own aromatic universes. If a 19-year-old with asparagus understands more by such spheres than ketchup and mayo, "The Taste" is undoubtedly to blame.

Together with the ambitious culinary expert Tobi from Zorneding, close to Munich, who at the age of 18 placed fourth in the teams of Alexander Kumptner and subsequently Frank Rosin, Tobi was already an inspiration during the 2022 anniversary season with his extravagant works of art composed of ordinary objects like cucumber and carrot.

Tobi, who is perpetually focused and hunched over his sideboard, made significant progress this year as well, this time with the help of Alexander Herrmann, his "idol" (remember, we're talking about a teenager here!), and in fact by way of ketchup and mayo.

Theresa (21), who was about the same age as him, consistently followed closely on his heels and frequently passed them. The Wolfau-born Austrian referred to her coach Nelson Müller as "my aroma queen" despite not knowing what fried herring or matjes housewife style are (she said, "I don't know these German things") and having no experience with the calf's development gland.

She served it as a classic Austrian sweetbread lightly in the second round on the theme of "Mayo" at the request of former coach and returning guest judge Frank Rosin ("I'm the one from 'The Taste' when it was still really good"). Tim Raue's first thought upon tasting the breaded and marinated in a sophisticated pumpkin seed oil (Müller exclaims, "That's an alpine meadow!") is "Interesting." Theresa frowns and says, "You don't want to hear that when it comes to food." Alexander Herrmann's criticism, "Very soft, kind of slimy," puts everything in jeopardy. Describe that.

In a nutshell, Herrmann believes there was a "production error" with the premium nuggets because "the veal sweetbreads were raw." Nelson Müller, Theresa's coach, is outraged by this and says, "I don't see it that way at all, we tried both." Herrmann resolutely proclaimed, "I'm sticking with it," and Theresa was defeated by Tobi in the contest of the talented cookery trainees. She sobs farewell, "I'm really sad," before continuing.

Additionally, this episode's finale involves reinventing doner kebabs under the banner of "Fastfood Deluxe" (Raue: "If there's one thing I've eaten all the time in my life, it's that"), disassembling burgers, fitting an entire pizza on a single spoon, and creating complex ketchup variations using various essences and tomatoes.

Private chef Yvonne (39) from Saarbrücken, Germany, is a little lost, frequently ruins her workspace (her coach Tim Raue: "I can't look at it at all"), and is truly sure that her rival Frank Rosin's culinary tastes may meet better. "I don't even eat my fries with it," she adds. She questions the modesty of her creation, thinking, "What a braggart," until, after the decisive battle with Tobi, she finds herself unexpectedly covered in confetti.

Everyone acknowledges Tobi's skill and his distinctive "aroma worlds," but Alexander Kumptner ultimately tips the scales by saying, "She cooked more emotionally." As well as a strawberry-pistachio crumble (Raue: "It only takes a champagne rosé as a slide") at the end, the duck breast in an orange, rhubarb, and ginger creation was so round and successful that the judges rolled their eyes, and Yvonne, who finished second in season 8 with Tim Raue, can now continue to cook with a cookbook deal and 50,000 euros.
