After going missing for more than five months on a trek in California, British actor Julian Sands has reportedly been located, confirming the worst suspicions.
British actor Julian Sands was discovered deceased a few days ago in the US state of California. The sheriff's office in the San Bernardino district stated on Tuesday (local time) that the remains had been properly recognized. The precise cause of death is still being looked into. The 65-year-old's remains were discovered on Saturday by hikers in a remote region.
The well-known actor, who has appeared in movies including "A Room With a View" and "Leaving Las Vegas," went on vacation to the Mount Baldy region in northeastern Los Angeles in mid-January and never came back. After that, he was reported missing, and a significant search was started. Living close to Hollywood, Sands.
The San Gabriel mountain range includes Mount Baldy, which is over 3070 meters tall. Due to the risky weather with ice and snow in January, the sheriff's office issued a warning against trekking there.
The week-long search for the missing person was challenging due to the winter weather. The ninth search effort, which involved more than 80 volunteers and was assisted by helicopters and drones, was reported by the police in mid-June.
Last Monday, the family of the father of three expressed their gratitude to the search teams for their persistent work. "We continue to hold Julian in our hearts with fond memories of him as a wonderful father, husband, explorer, lover of nature and art, and an extraordinary artist," the family wrote in a statement that the sheriff's office released on Twitter. Hikers discovered the corpse a few days later.

Over the course of his decades-long career, Sands has also made appearances in a large number of other movies and television shows, including The Killing Fields, Arachnophobia, Smallville, 24, and What/If.
