Michael Holm was one of the most popular German pop singers of the 1970s. His songs such as "Mexico" and "Tränen lügen nicht" reached the top of the charts, and he sold out concert venues around the country. But with popularity comes a negative side effect: groupies.

Holm told Bild in an interview that groupies were "part of the business" back then. "They were always there," he explained. "Some were nice, while others were not so nice."

Holm stated that he has never had a problem with groupies, but he understands how they might be an issue for other musicians. "I was always very careful," he said. "I never did anything that I would later come to regret."

Holm's remarks come at a time when the music business is coming to terms with its history. In recent years, a number of important players in the business, including record producers, managers, and performers, have been accused of sexual assault.

Holm's remarks serve as a warning that the music industry may be perilous for young women. Groupies are frequently young and defenseless, and they may be readily used by older, more powerful males.

It is critical for the music business to provide a safe working environment for all of its employees, especially women. This involves training artists and management on sexual harassment and assault, as well as providing victims with assistance.
