Alžběta Kolečkářová, a Czech singer who came to popularity on the fourth season of the singing competition SuperStar, is still mourning the suicide of her lover, Marcel G., who died a month and a half ago.
Kolekáová, 30, performed at a charity event on Saturday for the first time since G.'s death. She appeared depressed and to be battling with her grief.
"It's been a very difficult time for me," said Kolekáová in a statement. "I'm still trying to make sense of what happened." But I'm grateful for the love and encouragement of my family, friends, and fans. They're assisting me in getting through this."
G., 32, committed suicide on April 15. The reason of death was not disclosed.
Kolekáová and G. had been married for five years and had two small boys.
The singer has stated that she intends to continue her career and aims to utilize her position to promote suicide prevention.
"I want to help other people who are going through what I'm going through," Kolekáová explained. "I want them to know that they're not alone."
