I have covered several significant historical events in my own Portugal as a journalist. To commemorate the Feast of Our Lady of Fatima on May 13, 2023, hundreds of people gathered in Fatima, but nothing could have prepared me for the sight of them.

Portugal-As I approached the shrine, the sun was shining beautifully, and there was music playing and prayer going on in the background. The Blessed Virgin Mary is reputed to have appeared to three shepherd children in this village in 1917, and pilgrims from all over the world have flocked to Fatima to pay their respects to her.
I moved forward through the crowd and sat down on a bench. There was anticipation in the air as the Mass was about to start. As the priest began the Mass, the congregation participated in music and prayer.
The Mass was stunning and inspiring. The listeners listened intently as the priest discussed the value of faith, hope, and love. Following the Mass, the attendees filed out of the shrine and started mingling. The atmosphere was filled with peace and happiness, and it was obvious that everyone was appreciative of the opportunity to assemble and celebrate their beliefs.
I got the chance to converse with a few of the visitors who had traveled to Fatima. They explained to me why they came and related their inspiring tales of hope and faith.
One lady revealed to me that she had been to Fatima to offer prayers for her ill kid. Another woman revealed to me that she had traveled to Fatima in search of solace following the passing of her spouse. Yet another woman revealed to me that she had traveled to Fatima in order to express her gratitude to the Blessed Virgin Mary for all of her benefits.
The experiences of these travelers touched me, and they served as a reminder of the strength of faith. People can go to Fatima to discover hope, tranquility, and healing. People can go there to celebrate their beliefs and establish a connection with their spiritual side.
I am appreciative of the chance to cover the Holy Mass in Our Lady of Fatima's honor. I will remember that event for the rest of my life since it was unforgettably wonderful.
