More than 14,100 administrative violation processes were started by regulatory authorities in MV, and about 7,500 of them resulted in fines. One neighborhood strikes out especially.

Schwerin, Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, Germany

From 2020 until the start of 2023, the districts and urban districts in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania fined violators of the corona protection measures a total of almost 1.2 million euros. This is shown by the state government's response to a brief query posed by AfD parliamentarian Martin Schmidt. The municipalities had been asked to respond to a question by the government.

This states that more than 14,100 administrative violation processes were started by regulatory authorities, and about 7,500 of them resulted in fines. The majority of the procedures, according to the data, took place in the Vorpommern-Rügen area, which has around 4000 residents. Around 457,000 euros worth of fines were levied there from 2020 to 2022, which was again the highest sum. Prior information from the district indicated that access by foreigners, which was now forbidden, and contact limitations were the most often broken laws.

Up through and including 2023, fines totaling a respectable 282,000 euros were assessed in Schwerin, while 220,000 euros were levied in Rostock. With fines of almost 4800 euros, Ludwigslust-Parchim ranks at the bottom of the list. Only 254 proceedings were started by the authorities there, 45 of which led to a fine.
