Who was Koksal Engur?
Köksal Engür, born in Kars in 1946, began his career at the age of ten with short radio plays on TRT Ankara Radio's "Children's Hour."
After graduating from the Theater Department of Ankara University's Faculty of Language, History, and Geography in 1969, the artist began working on dubbing in addition to TRT.
Köksal Engür, who has appeared in dozens of films and cartoons, has acted in private theaters such as Ankara Community Center, Sahne 9, Ankara Trial Stage, adaş Sahne, Hodri Meydan Theatre, Dormen Theatre, Ali Poyrazolu Theater, and Küçük Sahne, as well as Bakrköy Municipality Theater and State Opera and Ballet productions. With his voice, he brought the role to life.
Engür's voice has become synonymous with actors such as Robert De Niro, Al Pacino, Dustin Hoffman, and Robin Williams, as well as Sesame Street characters such as "Büdü" and "Red Kit."
The artist got the "Supporting Actor" award at the 16th Ankara Film Festival in 2005 after being named "Best Actor of the Year" at the 1999 Afife Theater Awards and "The Most Successful Musical or Comedy Actor of the Year" in 2002.
