Per Sandberg and Bahareh Letnes endured every hotel owner's nightmare after taking over the Grand hotel in Halden.

Per Sandberg (56) and Bahareh Letnes (33) took over the Grand hotel in 2020, and their first full season began in the summer of 2022.
This summer, the couple's everyday lives as hotel owners has been documented, and subsequently made into the TV 2 series "Per og Baharehs Grand hotel" .
Sandberg informs some of the guests in the second episode of the show that there had previously been a fatality at the hotel.
Sandberg stated the tragedy occurred when the pair was in charge of hotel operations for the program's premiere party.
- There have been accidents and deaths at the hotel, says Sandberg to TV 2.
Sandberg and Letnes told TV 2 earlier this week that running the Grand hotel in Halden has been more difficult than anticipated.
That has strained the connection with the housemates, who are now concerned about the operation's future.
Sandberg claims that because the hotel was established in the 17th century, there have been significant issues with the infrastructure and hence security.
- To use the restroom, you must down a steep stairway. We've secured it in a variety of ways, but it's still rather steep.
Here is where the hotel accidents are supposed to have occurred.
- When we have old or unusual guests, we occasionally have to assist them in descending the stairs. Yet, there have been some accidents and injuries there, as Sandberg points out.
Letnes reveals to TV 2 that she, too, finds it difficult to climb the stairs.
- The only thing that makes me nervous about the hotel is going down those stairs.
- We are currently working with the hotel's proprietors to devise various alternatives so that the stairs will be safer.
Unfortunately, one of the accidents resulted in a fatality. This is confirmed by Sandberg and Letnes to TV 2.
- It was simply incredible, Letnes responds.
- What else can you say? It is not what anyone wants. It was a mistake. Someone fell, injured themself, and died as a result, according to an emotional Sandberg.
Letnes adds that the victim died as a result of his injuries.
- No one perished at the scene, but died later in the hospital, according to the 33-year-old.
- The Grand bar, I believe, represents the fact that we have everything between heaven and earth.
