The actor-singer, a guest on the set of Léa Salamé's show "Quelle époque!" questioned the need for pension reform and its timeliness.
"Rather of conversation, we chose a schism." Patrick Bruel, who was invited to the set of Quelle epoque! on Saturday evening, blasted the "offense" of 49.3 on pension reform.
The actor-singer is particularly perplexed by the timing of this reform: "Was it necessary to implement the pension reform now? Could we not postpone it, reopen the discussion, and restart the dialogue?"
"This 49.3 is constitutional, it cannot be discussed", he says, before backing the demonstrators: "But there, there are people in the street, who express themselves. There are those who are enraged." And Patrick Bruel to condemn the government's actions:
After the activation of 49.3 and before the discussion on resolutions of censure against the government, opponents of the pension reform have been marching in demonstrations around the country and in Paris for many days to show their outrage.
Numerous celebrities have previously spoken out against the pension change, including actors Adèle Haenel and Corinne Masiero, Nobel Prize-winning author Annie Ernaux, presenter Valérie Damidot, and actor Jean-Pierre Darroussin.
