Lieutenant Colonel Giuseppe Cipriano and Major Marco Meneghello are the two Air Force personnel who perished in a jet crash in Collefiorito, a hamlet of Guidonia, a municipality on the eastern suburbs of Rome, today, March 7. What transpired is the subject of an inquiry. So far, we know that the two soldiers' U-208 aircraft, both from Guidonia's 60th wing, collided in flight, and the debris wound up between the residences in viale Roma and via delle Margherite.

Who were Giuseppe Cipriano and Marco Meneghello

Cipriano was 48 years old and from Taranto, while Meneghello was 46 years old and from Legnago (Vr). Both were flight instructors with hundreds of flight hours under their belts. "They died performing their duty in the service of the country," according to an Air Force statement.

On the Corps' Facebook page, a post was made in remembrance of the two pilots, featuring a photo of them in uniform, smiling, next to one other. "We want to remember you like this, Giuseppe and Marco, with your cheerful smiles, passionate about flying and excited about their profession."

"You have reportedly passed on the principles of the Air Force to thousands of young people throughout Italy, who will no doubt be thinking about you today. Our enormous family is once again forced to deal with a dreadful pain that has stunned all of us. Giuseppe and Marco were more than simply coworkers; they were brothers. Two pilots from Guidonia's 60th Wing were killed in a plane accident while flying their U-208 aircraft on a training mission near the airport ".

According to what several eyewitness informed RomaToday, the aircraft, four in all, were evolving. Two of them would collide unexpectedly. At the Via delle Margherite, an aircraft collided with an automobile. The other, on the other hand, is on Viale Roma, a few kilometers from the Guidonia civil airport. There was nothing for the two military pilots to do.

Numerous people observed the incident. "I witnessed them fall right in front of my eyes," Simone tells RomaToday. "There were four planes in all. One of them lost its back wing and spun around till it crashed and caught fire. They appeared to be conducting formation tests ". "It was over my head, and I heard the engine stop with a crash," another witness adds.
