Mallory Gabsi received the young chef prize at the 2023 Michelin guide star event, in addition to the first star granted to her Parisian restaurant. Ile-de-France excels in the French culinary history with seven new stars.

Mallory Gabsi, 26, was awarded the Michelin guide 2023's prize for young chef on Monday, March 6. His same-named Parisian eatery also took home the first macaron. The young Belgian, who is best known for being a semi-finalist on Season 11 of Top Chef, has decided to launch his restaurant in Paris's 17th arrondissement in 2022. There, he provides a calm perspective of gastronomy and respects his consumers while keeping true to its simplicity.


Ile-de-France shines

The Mallory Gabsi restaurant thus receives its first star, alongside six other restaurants in the Ile-de-France region  :

1. Omar Dhiab in the 1st arrondissement of Paris, chef Omar Dhiab
2. Maison Ruggieri in the 8th arrondissement of Paris, chef Martino Ruggieri
3. Astrance in the 16th arrondissement of Paris, chef Pascal Barbot
4. Ortensia in the 16th arrondissement of Paris, chef Terumitsu Saito
5. Anona  in the 17th arrondissement of Paris, chef Thibaut Spiwack
6. Villa9Trois in Montreuil, chef Camille Saint-M'Leux


Two Parisian restaurants are also participating in the "passion dessert" promotion. This limited-edition collection brings together 52 places that elevate dessert and the sweet arts to the greatest culinary level, headed by their pastry chefs. The Parisian chefs Pierre-Jean Quinonero of Le Baudelaire and Germain Decreton of Le Jules Verne have been recognized for the year 2023.
