Shakib Al Hasan had 296 wickets before today's third ODI against England. The talented all-rounder became Bangladesh's first player with four wickets to reach 300 ODI wickets. Shakib became the 14th bowler to reach 300 ODI wickets.
As the third cricketer, he entered the club of 300 ODI wickets and 6000 runs. Shahid Afridi and Sanath Jayasuriya achieved this accomplishment before Shakib. Today's first casualty was English starter Phil Salt.
In the power play, Mahmudullah got caught in the salt cover while blowing Shakib's ball. In his following delivery, Shakib bowled another English opener, Jason Roy. Roy was bowled after failing to read Shakib's undercutter from beyond the crease.
Shakib returned to the bowling in the second stint and struck again. One of his great deliveries was chopped behind by this right-handed hitter. Shakib, on the other hand, had to wait a long time for his fourth wicket.
Tamim Iqbal introduced Shakib to bowl after the second spell with an extended pause. The fresh spell's second ball ended the wait. Shakib celebrated his 300th wicket with his teammates by catching Rehan Ahmed at short midwicket.
