Another bloodshed in Rome, the third homicide in less than a week. Luigi Finizio, 51, was shot dead at a gas station yesterday evening shortly before 7.30 p.m. The assailants escaped on scooters. Mayor Gualtieri expressed alarm about the increase in crime.

The victim was at a gas station in via dei Ciceri, near the intersection of via degli Angeli, between Torpignattara and Quadraro, when two men on a moped came and one of them shot, striking him in the legs and chest. They then departed, leaving no trace.

With precedence, Luigi Finizio had stepped out of the car, a blue Twingo, and was filling up with gas when he was shot dead: a full-fledged ambush. Several people who heard the gunshot raised the alarm.

On the scene, police officers from the mobile team and forensics personnel worked to provide assistance. In these situations, as is customary, an attempt is made to discover cameras that may have captured the killers. All of the investigation tracks are still open, including one involving a score-settling between criminal groups.

The new Prefect is chosen immediately, and the order and safety committee is called together as soon as possible to intensify the battle against organized crime and drug trafficking ", Rome Mayor Roberto Gualtieri stated on Twitter.
