Chiara Ferragni, an Italian influencer, wears three more 'manifesto dresses' to make a statement at the Italian music festival Sanremo.

The nude dress is one thing: from Kendall Jenner's nearly entirely translucent gown to Jennifer Lopez's exposing, sparkly design. Chiara Ferragni is pushing the bare dress to new heights with one of the 'nakiest' designs ever. The Italian influencer, who is also a presenter for the show, donned a daring Dior ensemble for the opening ceremony of the iconic Italian music festival Sanremo. At least, that's how it appears. Although the design was eye-catching, it was the powerful feminist message that stood out.

Chiara Ferragni is one of the official co-hosts of the Sanremo Festival, which kicked off yesterday night. Ferragni collaborated with Dior to design four distinct gowns for the live show, the winner of which would represent Italy at the Eurovision Song Contest. The nude dress, without a doubt, drew the most attention: a floor-length tulle gown with long sleeves studded with hundreds of beads and sequins in the style of trompe-l'oeil embroidery. The dress in question is not transparent, despite what you may think at first look. Chiara's figure, on the other hand, is portrayed on the garment in a delicate and realistic manner.

But it didn't end with a unique design. The message was just as (if not more) important. The'shameless garment' brings attention to women's rights, their bodies, and how revealing the female body is still regarded contentious; the dress, created at Dior's haute couture workshops, is intended to remove the shame associated with the female body. The design is therefore inspired by a work of art by Eva, the first woman in history to be disgraced for being a woman.

"When a woman reveals her body or feels seductive, no one has the right to excuse men's aggression or alleviate their guilt," Chiara Ferragni said on Instagram. "Nudity is a really strong sign of both strength and fragility," says Maria Grazia Chiuri of the dress's deeper meaning. This outfit pays respect to the beauty of women's bodies at a time when their reproductive rights are being threatened, their freedom to study and work is being eroded, and their right to a peaceful existence is being trampled by conflict. There is an urgent need for improvement right now. This gown asserts every woman's right to shine and celebrate her own power."

Symbolic dresses of Chiara Ferragni

Chiara Ferragni donned three different looks during the evening: the so-called 'manifesto dress', the 'dress against hatred' and the 'cage dress'. Each was inspired by a distinct work of art that conveyed a message. The first outfit was emblazoned with the word Pensati Libera, which translates as "Think Free" and represents women's freedom of speech. The second garment depicts the (online) hate speech Chiara, like many other women, gets as a prominent figure. Finally, the 'cage dress' represents escape from gender preconceptions, which frequently make women feel trapped.

It's no surprise that the outfits were created by Dior. Ferragni and Maria Grazia Chiuri have a long history of collaboration. She produced her wedding gown and accessories, as well as many unique ensembles for special occasions. Furthermore, feminist messages are common in Maria Grazia Chiuri's work. Who can forget the 'We Should All Be Feminists' shirt, as well as the numerous references to female artists and performers in Dior collections and shows?

Dior recreates pieces with a strong feminist stance in this collaboration with Chiara Ferragni. "When we started thinking about the garments, we recognized right away that we didn't want dresses solely for their unique style," Ferragni adds. "Through fashion, we felt compelled to communicate a relevant statement on Italy's most popular stage."
