Following his mishap while shoveling snow, Jeremy Renner needed surgery. According to a publicist for the actor, his health is remains serious but stable, according to CNN and the New York Times. The 51-year-old is in critical condition. He had "blunt damage" to the chest as well as "orthopedic injuries."


Renner suffered a "traumatic injury" Sunday morning in Reno, Nevada, and was airlifted to a nearby facility, according to the Washoe County Sheriff's Office.


On Wednesday night, the actor shared an Instagram selfie from his hospital bed. On the actor's face, there are some minor injuries. He thanks everyone for their well wishes and says, "I'm too tired to type."

The actual sequence of events remained unknown. The mayor of Reno has now spoken with specifics. According to Hillary Schieve, Renner attempted to release a trapped automobile in the snow. Then he was ran over by his own snow shovel.
