The Dallas Cowboys took care of business on the road against Tom Brady and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the final game of the first round of the playoffs on Monday.

Cowboys vs Buccaneers

The Buccaneers' thrashing on Monday broke Brady's personal seven-game winning streak against the Cowboys and handed Dallas its first road playoff win since the NFC Championship Game in 1992.

It was the Cowboys' most complete game this season since a 40-3 thrashing of the Minnesota Vikings on Nov. 20, and it may be just what the franchise needs to return to the Super Bowl for the first time since 1995.

Since that triumph over the Vikings, the Cowboys have battled in wins over the Houston Texans and Tennessee Titans, while falling in overtime to the Jacksonville Jaguars. After clearing the first hurdle, the Cowboys will try to build on their success.

Brady will not have a second chance against the 49ers or an eighth Super Bowl ring this season.

Brady's first defeat to the Cowboys came on Monday, and it was just the third time his club was eliminated in the wild-card stage of the playoffs, with the previous loss being on Jan. 4, 2020, in a 30-27 loss to the Tennessee Titans in his final game with the New England Patriots. Brady was 2-0 in wild-card round with the Buccaneers the previous two years.
