An Aeroméxico airplane made an emergency landing in Paris due to claimed engine difficulties. The plane was on its way to CDMX when it returned while flying over the United Kingdom.
According to the air traffic registration, an Aeroméxico business flight bound for Mexico City was forced to return to the Paris airport due to an emergency on Saturday, January 22. Flight AM004's emergency code 7700 was activated after takeoff from Charles de Gaulle Airport, according to Flightradar records.
According to reports, the Mexican jet would have taken off from the air base before turning around and returning to the Paris airport. The platform, however, stated that the cause for this move was unknown.
RdarBox, another platform that recorded the behavior of the plane bound for CDMX, recorded the emergency of the Aeroméxico Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner plane, which would have returned to the French capital while flying over the United Kingdom.
According to the platform, the Mexican plane suffered mechanical issues in the engine, which shut down unexpectedly during the trip and could not be restarted. So yet, the airline has not made a statement explaining why the flight to Mexico City failed.
They verified the return and emergency landing owing to mechanical issues, according to social media users.
However, they have also denounced that Aeroméxico personnel have not come out to explain the situation and have only reported that the flights to the Mexican capital will be rearranged by January 23.
"Am Listen, could you please assist me? Due to an engine issue, my aircraft from Paris to CDMX had to land again. There is no one from Aeroméxico who can provide information; they simply state that the new trip will depart on January 23 and do not provide directions on how to purchase the new ticket!" made a post on Twitter against the Mexican airline.
It should be noted that this is the Mexican airline's second problem this year, as users reported an attack on an Aeroméxico jet taking off in Culiacán, Sinaloa, in the early days of January.
