The first giant slalom of the World Cup takes place in beautiful sunshine on the Zauberberg in Semmering, Austria. Mikaela Shiffrin takes the lead after the first run. At the rescheduled race in Sölden, the American demonstrated that she can do more than just outrun the competitors in slalom. Petra Vlhova of Slovakia (+0.72 seconds) and Tessa Worley of France (+0.73) are also on course for the podium.

The trio must also consider the Italian Marta Bassino (+0.87), the winner of Sestiere, who is currently sixth behind Valerie Grenier (CAN). Lara Gut-Behrami, who won the first race at Killington, is ninth and one second off the pace.

The race, on the other hand, was disappointing for the DSV starters: Andrea Filser clearly missed the top 30 on the slowing slope. Jessica Hilzinger, another teammate, drove through a fence and therefore missed the final round.
