Despite the softening of the country's real estate market, the southeastern peninsula retains its allure and remains the location most desired by purchasers.

Around 25% of those intending to relocate to the United States do so outside of their present metropolitan region. According to a new survey, a sizable portion of these people are considering Florida as a new vacation destination.

High inflation rates, historically rising interest rates on house loans, and an economy on the edge of collapse have prompted much of the country's housing market to cool significantly in the second half of 2022. Moving to cheaper neighborhoods sounds like an appealing choice for individuals who are still looking for a new house to buy.

“Many seek to do some economics. With interest rates above 7 percent and property prices remaining high, the traditionally very expensive areas of the country are now more expensive”, indicates the study carried out by the Redfin real estate company that was broadcast by Fox News.

According to the Redfin research, 24.1% of those seeking to purchase a new house think about moving to a different metropolitan region. This implies that if a family in New York City is looking to relocate, they are most likely doing it in another state.

The survey looked at almost two million Redfin consumers who were looking for new homes between August and October of this year. The study compared the number of persons seeking for housing in a city to the number of people wishing to leave that city.

Although five of the ten cities where Americans are most looking to relocate are in Florida, according to this study the city to which most people are looking to relocate is Sacramento in California, which is the most accessible large city in the great western state .

Miami, Tampa, Cape Coral, Sarasota, and Orlando are the most searched cities in Florida. All of these places have substantially cheaper real estate (and living) costs than cities such as Los Angeles, New York, or Chicago.

According to historian Robin Faith Bachin of the University of Miami, the peninsula now has more than 22 million residents, 37% more than the 16 million who lived there in 2000. "Demographic studies predict that the population will continue to grow to over 25 million during the next decade."

24 percent of people looking to buy a home who currently live in San Francisco are looking at other cities. So are 27 percent of those in New York, 20 percent of those in Los Angeles, 19 percent of those in Boston, and 17 percent of those in Washington, DC.
