Ecuador, the national coach, compared the Netherlands to Argentina and Brazil, saying, "I don't think we're going to win."
Ecuador seems unconcerned about the World Cup encounter against the Netherlands on Friday. National coach Gustavo Alfaro understands that a loss will have little impact.
That is because his squad already has three points after defeating Qatar in the first game. That game was won by a score of 2-0. He also notices a significant difference between the Netherlands and Qatar. "We're playing against a country that wants to win the global title, so it's like we're playing against Brazil or Argentina," Alfaro remarked before the game. "Of course, you don't think we'll win."
It is unclear whether Enner Valencia, who scored both goals against Qatar, will be able to play against the Orange. "Of course, he wants to participate, and he is not seriously wounded," stated Ecuador's national coach. "He did, however, clash with an opponent. That, of course, has ramifications. We must assess what is doable following the most recent training."
