The finals of the "2022 League of Legends World Championship (hereafter referred to as Worlds)" achieved the largest amount of views of any League of Legends event in history.
DRX took first place in the 2022 Worlds Finals, which took place at the Chase Center in San Francisco, United States of America on December 6 , according to the e-sports chart, which registered a total of 5,147,699 spectators. China's numbers are not included in the totals.
This is an increase of 1.13 million viewers as compared to the number of people that watched the tournament held the year before in Reykjavik, Iceland, which was 4,018728. It has even more significance when one considers the fact that the final was fought out as if it were a civil war in Korea between T1 and DRX.
On the other hand, this conclusion grabbed people's attention by using a unique story. This tournament began with DRX competing in the preliminary round, and somehow they managed to get to the final. Since 2017, 'Myungga' T1 made it all the way to the final of the World Championships for the first time in five years. Both players are 26 years old, however Hyuk-gyu "Deft" Kim (26DRX) and Sang-hyeok "Faker" Sang-hyeok (26T1) are veterans who are competing in the World Championship for the first time and the fourth time, respectively. At the conclusion of a competitive match, DRX emerged victorious with a score of 3-2 to claim the first place position.
