On Friday evening, an explosion occurred in the mine quarry linked with the Amasra Institution Directorate of Turkish Hard Coal Institution in the Amasra area of Bartin.

25 of the 36 employees who were evacuated from the blast site were confirmed dead, according to a statement released by the governorate of Bartin.

The governor has tweeted that six of the wounded have been sent to Istanbul for treatment. Five wounded people are still receiving medical attention in neighboring regions.

Health Minister Fahrettin Koca, who updated the media on the condition of the wounded, stated, "Eleven of our injured are now receiving medical attention. Four of us are in intensive care, and one of them is in critical condition. Our service is currently treating 1 of our patients. Six locals were flown to the Burn Center at Istanbul's Başakşehir am and Sakura City Hospital "reported the news or made the announcement.

Süleyman Soylu, the Minister of the Interior, visited Bartin after the explosion at President Recep Tayyip Erdoan's request and reported that 110 employees were working in the mine at the time of the incident.

As Minister Soylu put it in his remarks, "We are in a difficult position and it pains us to say what we must. We had 110 brothers in the workforce. Some escaped on their own while others needed to be rescued. As many as 49 of my brethren lived in that perilous neighborhood."

Immediately after Minister Soylu's words, Fatih Dönmez, Minister of Energy and Natural Resources, said that preliminary investigations pointed to a campfire as the source of the explosion.


As Dönmez put it: "A bomb went off during the 16-24 hour shift today. Unfortunately, we have caused some harm. Our exhibition spaces are well ventilated. There are no flaws in our organization. Please accept my sympathies. The building is not on fire. All of our responses are seasoned pros, "In the words of Dönmez.


In his first statement following the blast, Governor Nurtaç Arslan of Bartin confirmed the presence of stranded miners.

Arslan said that initial reports indicated there were 49 individuals buried.


An explosion occurred at the mine at roughly 18:15 TSI, prompting the dispatch of emergency services.

Due to the explosion at the Bartin mining quarry, President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has postponed tomorrow's scheduled event in Diyarbakir.

The Directorate of Communications for the Presidency released a statement saying that President Erdogan will be delaying his trip to Diyarbakr until a later time.

It has come to light that Erdogan will go to Bartin tomorrow to oversee rescue operations personally.
