Actress Larissa Manoela, who is 21 years old, took to Twitter on Tuesday afternoon ( September 20) to rant about the diagnosis of two disorders that are associated with her health.

After experiencing significant pain during her monthly cycle, the actress decided to have an ultrasound to investigate the source of her suffering.

Actress Larissa Manoela revealed that she had polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) and remarked on endometriosis, which she had previously been diagnosed with in May of this year. Both conditions were discussed on her Twitter account.

Larissa Manoela's situation is not unusual. Endometriosis affects around 15% of women in Brazil, whereas polycystic ovary syndrome affects approximately 25%.

What is endometriosis?

Endometriosis is a condition that lasts for a long time and is brought on by a problem that disrupts the regular functioning of the uterus in connection with menstruation.

During menstruation, the cells of the endometrium, which is the tissue that borders the uterus, are not ejected; rather, they go in the other direction and fall into the ovaries or the abdominal cavity, where they proliferate and bleed. This process occurs every month.

Symptoms of endometriosis

In some cases, endometriosis can be asymptomatic. However, patients with endometriosis may have:

*Pain during sexual intercourse;

*Pain and intestinal/urinary bleeding during menstruation;

*Severe menstrual cramps;

*Infertility.

Endometriosis early symptoms

The first symptoms of endometriosis in diagnosed patients are:

*Fatigue;

*Diarrhea;

*Pain in sexual intercourse;

*Intense cramps.

Endometriosis treatment

Endometriosis may be treated using drugs that halt menstruation, such as hormonal contraceptives that are designed for continuous use.

Endometriosis may be cured spontaneously in women who have reached menopause because of the reduction in the production of female hormones and the cessation of menstruation at this point in life.

The removal of both the uterus and the ovaries is still another alternative; this one applies particularly to mothers who already have children.

Is endometriosis curable?

Endometriosis is a condition that cannot be treated. Endometriosis sufferers are required to get the appropriate therapy once they have been diagnosed with the condition.
