Users of iOS 16 have the ability to cancel or alter a message after it has been sent.
On an iPhone running iOS 16, you have up to two minutes after pressing the send button to cancel a message.
How to delete a message after sending on iPhone
Here's how to proceed if you want to unsend a message on your iPhone with iOS 16:
★Long click on the message you want to cancel,
★From the drop-down list, select Undo Send,
★The message disappears immediately.
Note that you have up to 2 minutes maximum after sending to cancel your message ( against 15 minutes initially planned , during the first public beta version of iOS 16). Good to know: this action can only work for contacts who also have iOS 16 or macOS Ventura.
How to edit a message after sending on iPhone
To edit a message after it's been sent on your iPhone with iOS 16:
★Long press on the message you want to make changes to,
★From the drop-down list, select Edit ,
★Edit your text, then click on the checkmark to the right of your message insert to send the correction,
★You can click on the Modified option that appears below the message to see all the changes made,
★You can also click Hide Edits to see only the latest edited post.
You have up to 15 minutes after sending a message to make any necessary changes to it before it is considered to be permanently sent. After the conclusion of this time frame, you will no longer have the opportunity to choose this choice. In addition, the function allows for a maximum of five different adjustments before it is disabled permanently.
Important information: the feature that offers the opportunity of changing a message can only operate if both of the contacts involved have iPhones running iOS 16, and the option that allows the cancellation of a message can only be used if the message has already been sent.
