The Central Bank has announced that customers who have asked for price subsidies in their electricity and gas rates would not be allowed to purchase the $200 per month at the regulated price. What exactly is the savings dollar, who is prevented from acquiring it, and how can one determine whether or not it can be obtained?
Users who made a request to keep subsidies in electricity and gas rates will not be allowed to purchase the two hundred dollars per month at a price that is regulated to save money. The Argentine Republic's Central Bank has verified this information as being accurate (BCRA). In spite of the fact that the bill has not yet been published, it is anticipated that the conditions of the 2020 standard will be increased. These criteria provide that "anyone gets any assistance from the State cannot access the savings dollar."
In the year 2020, when the world was in the midst of a pandemic caused by the coronavirus, this banking rule stipulated that anyone who received payments corresponding to the Emergency Family Income (IFE) or payments from a portion of their private salaries through the Assistance to Work and Production program (ATP) would be prevented from purchasing dollars officially at the bank headquarters.
What is the savings dollar and who can buy it
It is the dollar that persons who are not prohibited from doing so are able to acquire via home banking or through an ATM located at the bank's headquarters, up to a monthly maximum of two hundred dollars.
It acquires the value of the official dollar plus thirty percent of the Tax for an Inclusive and Solidarity Argentina (COUNTRY), as well as an additional thirty-five percent on account of the Income Tax, which can be refunded to the taxpayer provided that the taxpayer completes the appropriate procedure in front of the AFIP.
